Carl W. Skelton, 87 of Audubon, PA died peacefully surrounded by his family on Wednesday, October 2, 2013 at Einstein Hospital Montgomery, East Norriton, PA. Born June 6, 1926 in Phila., Pa to the late Alva and Ann (Turner) Skelton. Also predeceased by his brother, Alva and his sister Mabel Kulp. He was a graduate of Northeast High School, Phila. He worked at Alan Wood Steel Company and Superior Tube. He served in the Navy for four Years receiving the American Area Campaign Medal, the Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal, the Philippine Liberation Medal, the Good Conduct Medal and the World War II Victory Medal. He was a lifelong member of St. Teresa of Avila Church. Carl was a real family man, he was the husband of Rosemary (Durkin) Skelton, they were married for 64 years and had 7 children. Along with his wife, Rosemary he is survived by his children, Sharon DiMarzio (Dante), C. Daniel Skelton (Helen), Nancy Dodds (Rick), Thomas Skelton (Maryann), Mark Skelton (Colleen), Patrick Skelton and Michael Skelton (Bonnie); 26 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a viewing from 9 to 9:50 AM Monday, October 7, 2013 followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 AM at St. Teresa of Avila Church, 1260 S. Trooper Rd., Norristown, PA 19403. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery, W. Conshohocken, PA. Memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 1701 North Beauregard Street, Alexandria, VA 22311 or St. Teresa of Avila Church.
