Carolyn Marie Caton

Carolyn Marie Caton was born Robert George Caton to parents George “Gid” and Marie Caton (nee Blanes) on 10/28/49. She is survived by her ex-wife, Carol Caton (nee Charnick), their two children Robert George Caton Jr and Kimberly Plummer (nee Caton), son-in-law Thomas Plummer, and grandchildren Cecilia Alyce and Harrison Leo Plummer. Carolyn graduated from North Schuylkill High School in 1967, which is also where she met Carol - her high school sweetheart and future wife. They attended Penn State together, graduating in 1971 and marrying in 1973 (Carolyn received one of Penn State’s first degrees in computer science). Their daughter, Kim, was born in Pittsburgh PA, and a move to Lansdale PA and the welcome of son Bob Jr. followed. Subsequent years brought a flurry of Cherrystone Campground and Disney World vacations for the extended family as well as Carolyn’s illustrious efforts volunteer coaching youth sports for Kim and Bob’s local teams with Lansdale Little League, North Penn Valley Softball Association, and Montgomery Soccer Association. Throughout her entire life Carolyn was an avid gamer, and when the time came to retire from her computer career (which was spent almost entirely with SEI and Accenture) she was able to realize her lifelong dream of managing a game store – The Compleat Strategist in King of Prussia. Many of her closest friends were made through gaming and it was always a source of great joy in her life (something she also passed down to her daughter Kim from a very young age). A memorial will be held on Friday 3/11/22 at Szpindor-Meyers Funeral Home (101 N Park Ave / Rt 363 Eagleville, PA) starting at 11am with the service at noon. A funeral lunch will be held immediately following and all are welcome to join (details will be available at the service).
