Maria (Kalatschan) Korom passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 16, 2017 at her residence in King of Prussia, PA. She was 89. Mrs. Korom worked as a nurse’s aide at Doylestown Manor for 15 years. She was a member of Sacred Heart Church in Bridgeport, PA. Maria was an excellent cook and baker. She was a “first class wife” whose whole life revolved around her family. Maria was a strong woman who endured many trials in her life, including surviving an internment camp in Yugoslavia during WW II for 3 years. Born in Novikozarci, Serbia on June 6, 1927, she was a daughter of the late Anton and Maria (Roth) Kalatschan. Surviving is her loving family including her husband of 63 years, Frank Korom; two sons, Michael J. Korom and his wife, Virginia, of Exton, PA and Frank J. Korom of Watertown, Mass; two grandsons, Michael (Shelby) Korom and Nikolas (Lindsay) Korom; five great-granddaughters: Juliette, Madison, Lily, Sidney and Noelle. She was preceded in death by three brothers: John, Frank and Michael; and a sister, Anna. Relatives & friends are invited to Maria’s Funeral Mass at Sacred Heart Church, 120 Jefferson St., Bridgeport, PA on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at 11:00 am. Interment will be in St. Augustine Cemetery, King of Prussia, PA.
