Mary Lou (Difilippo) Burdo

Mary Lou (DiFilippo) Burdo passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 12, 2012 at the Wayne Center in Wayne, PA. She was 71. Mrs. Burdo was a resident of Wayne, PA and was formerly of King of Prussia, PA. She worked as an executive secretary for Towers Perrin in Philadelphia, PA for 40 years, retiring in 2005. Mary Lou was a member of St. Augustine R.C. Church in Bridgeport, PA and the Montgomery County Association for the Blind. She was an avid bowler, loved vacationing at Ocean City, MD and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren. Born in Bryn Mawr, PA on February 24, 1941, she was a daughter of the late Louis R. and Nella M. (Carafa) DiFilippo. Mary Lou was the wife of the late Gerald "Butch" C. Burdo, who died in 2004. Surviving is her loving family including two sons, Frank R. Burdo and his wife, Karen, of Wayne, PA and David J. Burdo and his wife, Susan, of W. Norriton, PA; a daughter, Tina M. Medaglia and her husband, Steven, of Gilbertsville, PA; 7 grandchildren; a great-grandson; a brother, Frank DiFilippo and his wife, Anna, of Lititz, PA; a sister, Barbara Rhoads and her husband, Bill, of Exton, PA; and many nephews and nieces.Mary Lou's Funeral Mass will be held at St. Augustine R.C. Church, 464 Ford St., Bridgeport, PA 19405 on Monday, July 16, 2012 at 10am. Officiating will be Rev. James A. Lyons, Parochial Administrator. Her viewing will be Monday morning from 9 to 9:50am, at the church.
