It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Matthew P. Judge. In 1947 Matt was born and raised in Philadelphia. For forty years he called Trooper home, recently moving closer to family in Telford where he passed away on April 2nd, 2021. He was 74 years old. He is preceded in death by his parents, Matthew P. Judge, Sr. and Barbara Judge (Boles), and his sister, Diane Judge. He is survived by the love of his life and wife of over 53 years, Margaret Judge (LaCava). Sons James (Leah), Patrick (Frances), Michael (Jennifer) and Mark, his sister Karen (late Daniel Devlin) along with eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren. There were also a myriad of nephews and nieces who counted on Uncle Matt for help, advice and a good joke. He met Margret LaCava in the summer of 1965. A quick courtship, marriage and then a draft card. He never made it to Vietnam and was able to return to South Philadelphia, where they started their family and his legacy. He became a union electrician and a proud member of IBEW, Local 98 until his retirement in 2006 from Judge Electrical. In 1979 they moved to Trooper where he loved living and watching his family grow. Matt had many hobbies, and many people did not recognize him without a paintbrush or a golf club in his hands. Through golf he made many friends and spent decades playing and enjoying time spent joking and actually scoring well on occasion. He did nothing without passion. Whether photographing his children in sports, golfing, painting Santa’s, electrical work but especially when caring for his family. After retirement, he and Margaret were able to travel and enjoy the fruits of their hard work. He passed after very brief but aggressive illness but was surrounded by his family and knew just how much he has meant to our family. A mass will celebrate his life, 10 am Saturday, April 10 preceded by a church viewing at Visitation BVM Lower Church, 196 N. Trooper Rd. Norristown, Pa 19403 from 8:45 to 9:45 am. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that if you are inclined, to please donate to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF).
