Nicholas A. Gabriele

Nicholas A. Gabriele passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 21, 2012 at Montgomery Hospital in Norristown, PA. He was 89. Mr. Gabriele was a resident of King of Prussia, PA. Nicholas was a member of Mother of Divine Providence Church in King of Prussia. He graduated from Penn State University, Class of 1944, with an engineering degree. Nicholas worked as a Mechanical Engineer and worked with a number of engineering companies including: Philco, Burroughs, NACA, McDonalds, and Bendix. He was a member of the Upper Merion Senior Center and the Valley Forge Sons of Italy. His major hobbies were reading, golfing, tennis and taking trips to the casinos. Nicholas was a US Army Air Force Veteran of WW II, serving in the Pacific Theatre of Operations.Born in Bridgeport, PA on September 28, 1922, he was the son of the late Angelo and Guilia (Terpolilli) Gabriele. Nicholas was the husband of the late Ann M. (Dorizio) Gabriele, who died in 2011. Surviving is his loving family including a son, Robert M. Gabriele of King of Prussia, PA; a daughter Barbara A. Harris and her husband, Randall, of Merritt Island, FL; a sister, Lena Greco of Norristown, PA; and many nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Waters.Nicholas' Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Mother of Divine Providence Church, 333 Allendale Rd., King of Prussia, PA 19406 on Saturday, July 28, 2012 at 10:00am. Officiating will be the Rev. Martin T. Cioppi, pastor. Relatives and friends may call on Saturday morning from 9 to 9:50am, at the church. Entombment will be in St. Augustine Cemetery Mausoleum, King of Prussia, PA.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Nicholas' memory to Mother of Divine Providence Church, 333 Allendale Rd., King of Prussia, PA 19406 and/or the Alzheimer's Association Delaware Valley Chapter, 399 Market St., Suite 102, Philadelphia, PA 19106.
