Albert R. Mollica

Albert R. Mollica passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 29, 2010 at his residence in King of Prussia, PA. He was 89. Mr. Mollica worked as an electrical mechanical assembler for the former Burroughs Corp. in Paoli, PA. He was a graduate of Upper Merion High School, Class of 1939. Albert was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Bridgeport, PA where he was a former member of their Holy Name Society and an usher at Sunday Mass for 55 years. He was also a member of the LAM-Valley Forge Lodge 1776 Sons of Italy, the Triple ‘S' Sportsman Club, VFW Post 840 in Bridgeport, PA and the Men of Malvern for 52 years. Mr. Mollica was a US Army veteran of WW II, serving from 1943 to 1945 in the European Theatre of Operations. Born in Berwyn, PA on September 27, 1920, he was a son of the late Michael and Florence (Farina) Mollica. He was the husband of the late Susan V. (Mastercola) Mollica, who died in 1995. Surviving is his loving family including a sister, Grace Zona of King of Prussia, PA; and many nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by a brother, John Mollica and 7 sisters, Mary Conte, Julia DiLutis, Ester Romano, Nellie Collins, Lena Sheplock, Margaret Santangelo and Anna Patton. Relatives & friends are invited to his Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 502 Ford St., Bridgeport, PA 19405 on Friday, July 2, 2010 at 10:30am. His viewing is Friday morning from 9am to 10:20am, at the church. Interment in St. Augustine Cemetery, King of Prussia, PA.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Albert's memory to Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 502 Ford St., Bridgeport, PA 19405.
