Alfred J. Lizzio, 99, of Abington, PA passed away Thursday, April 16th, 2020 peacefully, at Abington-Jefferson Health. Alfred was born in Abington, PA on August 12, 1920, a son of the late Maria (Finocchiaro) and Sebastian Lizzio. Brother of the late Raymond and Michael. Beloved husband of the late Sara (Cardillo) Lizzio. Alfred and Sara were married for 61 years until her passing in 2007. They were married at Immaculate Conception Church on October 12, 1946. Alfred is survived by two daughters, Joanne, wife of Robert Mann, of Abington, PA; Janet, wife of Jack Boyd, and a son, Fred Lizzio. Alfred is also survived by 5 Grandchildren: Cori Wiley (Dennis); Steven Mann (Kiersten Stephens); Holly Martinenza (Brad), Lindsay Harbold (Russell) & Jeff Boyd (Rebecca) & by 7 Great Grandchildren. Alfred was a member of Our Lady Help of Christians Church in Abington, PA. He Graduated Abington High School in 1939. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corp as a SSgt in WW II and earned the Good Conduct Medal, Distinguished Unit Badge, American Campaign Medal, Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal with 3 Bronze Stars and the WWII Victory Medal. Alfred was the Proprietor of Jenkintown Beer & Beverage with his brother, Ray, for many years. A private family viewing will be held on Monday, April 20th, 2020 at the Joseph J. McGoldrick Funeral Home, Inc. in Jenkintown, PA. A private family funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 21st at Our Lady Help of Christians in Abington, PA. and will be live streamed on our website at 10 AM. His Interment will be at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Abington Health Foundation, 1200 Old York Rd.
