Alfredo D'Orsogna

Alfredo “Al” D’Orsogna, age 85, of Audubon passed away on Thursday, April 25, 2024 at Brandywine Living in Upper Providence. Born in Lanciano, Italy on May 12, 1938 to the late Gennaro and Serafina D’Orsogna. He is also preceded in death by 6 brothers, Filippo, Nicolo, Amedeo, Alberto, Vincenzio and Antonio.

Al is survived by his wife, Antoinette (nee Volpe) D’Orsogna; 2 daughters, Margherita Fraioli (Paul), and Vittoria Wagner (Darren); sister, Lucia Bonanni (Raymondo); 6 grandchildren, Hunter, Francesca, Alex, Chase, Claudia, and Mia, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Alfredo left his home in Italy in 1960 and moved to Australia, where he worked and lived for two years. In 1962 he immigrated to the United States and moved to the Bronx, NY, where he met Antoinette. They married in 1965 and moved to Philadelphia, where he worked as a Union Carpenter. In 1968, they moved to Texas before returning to Ardmore, PA. In 1980, Alfredo built his dream house in Audubon, PA, after work hours and on weekends, and then raised his family there. After retirement, he worked for Montgomery County Parks as a part-time handyman; he liked to stay busy working.

Alfredo loved his home and his neighbors. One could not visit without having a glass of his homemade wine. He also loved his vegetable garden. When not at home, he enjoyed his time at his Italian Club in Overbrook and the Holy Savior Bocce League. Family parties were another favorite of Al’s, and he was always on the dance floor. He was so proud of his family, especially his daughters and grandchildren, and thought of his son-in-laws as his own sons. He also loved visits from his grand dogs: Bella, Koda, Nico, and Teddi.

Family and friends are invited to attend a viewing from 9:45 to 10:45 am on Friday, May 3, 2024, followed by a Funeral Mass 11 am at Visitation BVM Church, 196 N. Trooper Rd., Trooper, Pa 19403. Interment will follow at St. Patrick Cemetery, Norristown, Pa.
