Allen Lee Carey

Allen L. Carey passed away unexpectedly on July 24, 2015, at his home in Bear, Delaware. He was born April 7, 1958 in Chester, Pennsylvania, the son of Agnes and Allen Carey. The cause is not yet identified, but he was deeply loved and will live on in our memories forever. Allen graduated from Claymont High School, in Claymont Delaware, class of 1976. Following graduation, he served in the U.S. Navy for 6 ½ years (1978-1984) as an OPCON Systems Technician. Following his service, he worked for and retired from Citizens Bank as a Field Service Technician, after 25 years. During his tour in the U.S. Navy, he met and married the love of his life, Victoria Connor. They have been married for 33 years, and they have one son, Gerald Schott, who is their pride and joy. Allen is survived by his wife, Victoria C. Carey; his son, Gerald A. Schott; five of his six sisters, Bunny McNamee, Trish Walsh, Nina Schneider, Liz Carey, and Aggie Pettyjohn; his sister in law, Ellamay Connor and her daughter Felicia Violet Connor; one grandson and twelve nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his sister Kathy Bonner, and his parents, Agnes and Allen Carey. A service of remembrance will be held at the Schoenberg Memorial Chapel, 519 Philadelphia Pike, Wilmington, Delaware on August 1st, 2015. Public Viewing will start at 10am, followed by a memorial service at 11am. A reception will be held at 65 Wood Duck Lane, Elton, MD, 21921. Flowers can be sent to the chapel.
