Allen A. Wachter passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 23, 2010 at Montgomery Hospital in Norristown, PA. He was 84. Mr. Wachter was a resident of Audubon, PA and was previously of King of Prussia, PA. He worked as a divisional sales manager for Brown & Williamson Tobacco Corp., Philadelphia division. Allen was a member of St. Teresa of Avila Church in Audubon, PA and a former member of Mother of Divine Providence Church in King of Prussia, PA, where he served as a Eucharistic minister and lector. His interests included golfing, carving duck decoys and bowling. Mr. Wachter was a US Marine Corps veteran who served in the Pacific Theatre of Operations. Born in Pottsville, PA on June 15, 1926, he was a son of the late John and Florence (Cooper) Wachter. Surviving is his loving family including his wife of 62 years, Mary Louise (McGovern) Wachter; three daughters, Patricia A. Denmon and her husband, Lynn of Pottsville, PA, Luanne Levi and her husband, Len of Downingtown, PA and Mary Eileen Ralph and her husband, John of King of Prussia, PA; seven grandchildren: Elise, Patrick, Jimmy, Caroline, Alexandra, Sean and Kevin; one great-grandson, Oliver; and many nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by 3 brothers, John, Robert and Edward Wachter. Relatives & friends are invited to his Funeral Mass at St. Teresa of Avila Church, 1260 S. Trooper Rd., Audubon, PA 19403 on Thursday, October 28, 2010 at 2:00pm. Officiating will be the Rev. Msgr. Andrew J. Golias, Pastor. The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday afternoon from 1 to 1:50pm, at the church. Interment will be private in Calvary Cemetery in Pottsville, PA.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Allen's memory to the WW II Veterans Memorial American Battle Monuments and Commissions, P.O. Box 96766, Washington, DC 20090-6766.
