Alvin Gene Dobbs passed away surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, February 13, 2022. He was 71. Mr. Dobbs grew up on Sunnyside Avenue in Audubon and attended Methacton High School, Class of 1968. He was a US Navy veteran. Gene was a resident of King of Prussia, PA. He worked as a Pipe Fitter for the US Government for many years. Gene was a member of the Bridgeport Elks Lodge 714. He loved to travel and take his family to many beautiful parts of the country. Gene had a love for animals and the outdoors. He made everyone smile with his sense of humor and good nature. Gene was an extraordinary husband, father and grandfather. His most recent role was great-grandfather, a role he loved. Born in Norristown, PA on April 21, 1950, he was a son of the late Albert Edward Dobbs and Eris Pearl (Cowing) Dobbs. Surviving is his loving family including his wife of 48 years, Karen Marie (Gottlich) Dobbs; two daughters, Laura (Kyle) Minnich and Donna Dobbs; four grandchildren: Luc (Alyssa) Minnich, Hayleigh (Thomas) Smith, Troy Minnich and Cole Minnich; a great-grandson, Mason Smith; and a brother, Edward (Janet) Dobbs. The family will receive relatives & friends at the Bacchi Funeral Home & Crematory, Ltd., 805 DeKalb St., Bridgeport, PA on Monday, March 7, 2022 from 10 to 11:00 am; followed by his Memorial Service at 11:00 am. Interment will be in Valley Forge Memorial Gardens, King of Prussia, PA.
