Andrew Joseph Wisniewski

March 23, 1948 — December 3, 2024

Andrew (Andy) Wisniewski, 76. Of Newtown Square, PA passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, surrounded by family.

Andy was born in Philadelphia, PA on March 23, 1948, a son of the late Irene (Staniec) and Joseph Wisniewski. Andy was raised in the Tacony section of Philadelphia where he attended St. Leo’s Catholic grade school followed by Father Judge Catholic High School. He was also a former member of St. Katherine of Sienna Church, in the Torresdale section of Philadelphia, PA. Andy had a long and happy career in computer programming with CoreStates Bank where he acquired many lifelong friends.

Andrew was the loving brother of Mary Jo Spivak and Frank. Andy was preceded in death by his brother Tom and Sister Eileen McDougal. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Annabell, Uncle Raymond Staniec, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Andy’s journey on this earth was one marked by love, joy and giving. He took care of his family and friends. He attended St. John’s College in Annapolis, MD where he was able to pursue his love for books and reading and started developing his book collection. He enjoyed working with his mother and sister Eileen putting together a huge Thanksgiving dinner for all and I mean all his beloved family. Andy traveled for many years to Florida for spring training sometimes making the trip to FL twice in one year just because he enjoyed it. Andy also managed to make several trips to visit his brother Tom and his family in the Philippines. Andy was a big fan of our Philadelphia Phillies and enjoyed attending the games. Although the hot dogs may have had something to do with that. Andy loved his junk food, especially ice cream.

His passing has left a void in the hearts of his family, friends, and many more whose lives were touched by him. We ask that you remember him for the way he lived his life and for the profound impact he had on the lives of those who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing from 10-11 AM followed by his religious service at 11 AM at the Hoffmann Meyers Givnish Funeral Home, 1770 Brown Ave. Bensalem, PA 19020. His interment will be held at Magnolia Cemetery.

In place of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. John’s College.
