Anna A. (Palmerio) Chiccarine

Anna A. (Palmerio) Chiccarine passed away peacefully on Monday, October 4, 2010, in the presence of her family at the Regina Nursing Center in Norristown, PA. She was 84. Mrs. Chiccarine was a resident of Norristown, PA. She was a long time parishioner of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Bridgeport, PA. Anna, along with her husband, Peter, owned and operated Chick's Tavern in Bridgeport for more than 40 years. A loving and dedicated wife and mother, she enjoyed cooking, especially Sunday dinner for her family of three children and their spouses and nine grandchildren. Earlier in life, Mrs. Chiccarine was an avid bowler and enjoyed monthly card party gatherings with a group of long time friends. She also enjoyed traveling with her family and was especially fond of her trip to Italy with her husband and friends, and summer visits to the Jersey Shore. Born in Norristown, PA on December 13, 1925, she was the third of four children of the late Giuseppe and Gemma (Dello Buono) Palmerio. She was the wife of the late Peter Chiccarine, who died in 1992. Surviving is her loving family including two sons, Peter L. Chiccarine of Lancaster, PA & David J. Chiccarine and his wife, Carol of Jeffersonville, PA; a daughter, Jayne C. Stephens and her husband, Dennis of Bryn Mawr, PA; nine grandchildren: Mary Ann, Peter J., Catherine, Joseph, Amy, Cindy, David R., Brian and Laura; two great-grandchildren, Frederick and Charlotte; a sister, Rita Russo and her husband, Joseph of King of Prussia, PA; sister-in-law, Jennie Palmerio of Norristown, PA; brother-in-law, Dominic Genuardi of Gwynedd, PA; and many nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by a brother, Marco Palmerio, a sister, Gloria Genuardi, daughter-in-law, Charlotte Ann Chiccarine, and nephew, Joseph Palmerio. Relatives and friends are invited to her Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 502 Ford St., Bridgeport, PA 19405 on Friday, October 8, 2010 at 10:00am. Friends may call on Thursday evening from 6 to 8pm and Friday morning from 8:30 to 9:20am, both at The Bacchi Funeral Home & Crematory, Ltd., 805 DeKalb St. (Rt. 202), Bridgeport, PA 19405. Interment in St. Patrick's Cemetery, E. Norriton, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Anna's memory to Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 502 Ford St., Bridgeport, PA 19405.
