Anne “Susan” Davis passed away on Thursday February 9, 2023 at the age of 74 after a short battle with brain cancer. All who knew and loved Anne called her Sue, and it was only when she went to obtain her marriage license at the age of 20 that she discovered her legal name was Anne. Sue passed away peacefully in her home, surrounded by her four children.
Sue is predeceased by her husband and best friend of 50-years Michael F Davis “Mick” as well as her parents William and Anne Kinkle (nee Kelly).
During her lifetime Sue was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Sue was born September 15, 1948 in Philadelphia PA and spent the majority of her life in Tacony where she raised her family. As a teenager Sue met the love of her life but he got shipped off to serve in the Vietnam War. While Mick was away training dogs in the war Sue sent him a Dear John letter ending their relationship. Lucky for their children, when Mick returned from the war he went to Sue and told her they were going to get married and 8-months later they were married at St Leo’s Catholic Church in Tacony.
Sue dedicated her life to her husband and her family and when she wasn't busy taking care of them she enjoyed reading a good mystery or romance novel. Sue also loved to bake and crochet and was known to crochet the most beautiful baby blankets for all her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Sue will forever be remembered by her children: Michelle Dougherty (John), Jennifer Vandever, Michael Davis (Sherri) and Doreen Fullmer (Jaret); Brother William Kinkle (Donna); Grandchildren: Michael Gallagher, Kayla Marrero (Angel), Karissa Vandever, Kelsey Vandever, Hayden Dougherty, Connor Dougherty (Rachel), Madison Laessig, Kaitlyn Seamans, Donovan Dougherty, Kevin Vandever, Grace Davis, Kyle Vandever, Ryan Davis, Brady Fullmer and Riley Fullmer; Great-grandchildren: Santino Marrero, Mason Bowers, Alayna Marrero, Dakota Dougherty, Karter Crosby, Beau Laessig, Tanner Dougherty and Raegan Dougherty.
Family and friends are invited to her graveside service on Friday March 3, 2023 at 1:30 PM at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Road, Newtown PA. Please arrive no later than 1:15pm. Service will start promptly at 1:30pm.
