Anne R. Werkiser

Anne R. (Ciabattoni) Werkiser passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 9, 2011 at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia, PA. She was 88. Mrs. Werkiser was a resident of King of Prussia, PA. She was a graduate of Norristown High School. Anne was a long time employee of Genuardi's Supermarket and previously worked for the former Conte Luna and Food Fair, both in Norristown, PA. She was a member of Mother of Divine Providence Church in King of Prussia, PA. Anne was also a charter member of the Catholic War Vets, a past president of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Norristown Orioles and a member of the Holy Saviour Senior Citizens. She loved traveling, the Jersey Shore and bowling. Born in Norristown, PA on October 28, 1922, Anne was a daughter of the late Nazzareno and Julia (Moleski) Ciabattoni. She was the wife of the late George M. Werkiser, who died in 2008. Surviving is her loving family including three daughters: Marilyn L. Lawson and her husband, Robert of Galena, MD, Joanne V. Henning and her husband, Dennis of Collegeville, PA and Laura A. Shaw and her husband, Joseph of Trooper, PA; six grandchildren: Christopher, Dennis, Megan, Katie, J. Patrick and Lyndsey; three brothers: Augustine Ciabattoni of Bristol, PA, Nazzareno Ciabattoni, Jr. of the Poconos, PA and John Ciabattoni and his wife, Esther of Worcester, PA; two sisters, Laura DiCicco of Worcester, PA and Phyllis Sylvester of Norristown, PA; and many nephews, nieces and great-nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Joseph and Julio Ciabattoni; and a sister, Mary Ciabattoni. Relatives & friends are invited to her Funeral Mass at Mother of Divine Providence Church, 333 Allendale Rd., King of Prussia, PA 19406 on Monday, March 14, 2011 at 10:30am. Officiating will be the Rev. Martin T. Cioppi, Pastor. Anne's viewing will be Monday morning from 9 to 10:20am, at the church. Entombment in St. Augustine Cemetery Mausoleum, King of Prussia, PA.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Anne's memory to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, The Sheridan Building, 125 South 9th St., Suite 202, Philadelphia, PA 19107.
