Anthony Candello

Anthony Candello passed away peacefully on Monday, June 23, 2014 at Mercy Suburban Hospital in E. Norriton, PA. He was 94. Mr. Candello was a lifelong resident of Bridgeport, PA. He worked as an engineer for the former Alan Wood Steel Co. in Conshohocken, PA. Anthony was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Bridgeport. Mr. Candello was a US Army veteran of WW II. He served from 1941 to 1945 in the African & European Theatres of Operation.Born in Bridgeport, PA on September 15, 1919, he was a son of the late Carmen and Michelina (Merola) Candello. He was the husband of the late Frances (Slobodzian) Candello, who died in 1991. Surviving is his loving family including a sister, Eleanor Angelucci and her husband, John, of W. Norriton, PA; many nephews and nieces; and many other loving family members. There was a special place in his heart for a great-niece and a great-nephew, Makena & Nicholas Candello. He was preceded in death by 5 brothers: James, Carmen Jr., Ralph, Alfred and Salvatore; and 3 sisters: Louise Ronio, Anna Mastercola and Josephine Lamonte. Anthony's Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 502 Ford St., Bridgeport, PA on Thursday, June 26, 2014 at 10:00 am. The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday from 9 to 9:50 am, at the church.
