Anthony J. 'Pete' Goreski

Anthony J. "Pete" Goreski, Sr. passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 3, 2014 at Paoli Hospital in Paoli, PA. He was 86. Mr. Goreski was a resident of Bridgeport, PA. He worked for Lee Tires in Conshohocken, Levinos Tire Manufacturing and Kaiser Aluminum Factory. He also was an Upper Merion Crossing Guard and a Security Guard at the former Sacred Heart Hospital. Pete was a member of Sacred Heart Church in Swedesburg, PA, where he was a member of their Holy Name Society. He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed baseball, hunting and fishing. Pete also loved music and polka dancing.Mr. Goreski was a US Army Air Force veteran of WW II, serving as a sergeant from 1946 to 1947. He was a Control Tower Technician and was stationed in Alaska.Born in Swedesburg, PA on February 20, 1928, he was a son of the late Thomas A. and Helen (Dolga) Goreski. He was the husband of the late Irene J. (Onufer) Goreski, who died in 2011. Surviving is his loving family including 3 sons: Anthony J. "Sonny" Goreski, Jr. and his wife, Linda, of Audubon, PA, Edward M. Goreski of Clearwater, FL and Stephen G. Goreski and his wife, Rosemary, of E. Norriton, PA; two daughters, Barbara Consalvo and her husband, Simon, of Port St. Lucie, FL and Mary Ann Fiorentino of Bridgeport, PA; 14 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren. Relatives and friends are invited to Pete's Funeral Mass at Sacred Heart Church, 120 Jefferson St., Swedesburg, Pa. 19405 on Sat. April 12, 2014 at 10am. Officiating is the Rev. Tadeusz Gorka, Parachial Administrator.(Mass Only-NO VIEWING). Interment St. Augustine Cemetery, King of Prussia, Pa.
