Anthony Oliver Jr., D.D.S

Anthony Oliver, Jr., D.D.S., 75, of West Norriton, Pennsylvania, passed away on August 28, 2020 at his residence. He was born in Montgomery, Alabama to Anthony and Emma Louise (Spengeman) Oliver. After graduating from Massapequa High School in New York, he earned a bachelor of arts degree in History at Temple University. He went on to earn a Doctor of Dental Surgery and a specialty certificate in Orthodontics at Temple University School of Dentistry. Anthony practiced dentistry and then orthodontics for over 40 years as a professional of the highest caliber. A voracious reader with a photographic memory, he was fluent in history, politics, and medicine, and spoke amiably with everyone about nearly anything. He was unfailingly generous with his time and knowledge, which was so often sought by his children and grandchildren. They valued his advice, and called on him simply to enjoy the exchange. He was an enthusiast of both classical music and motorcycles -- he even escaped a skirmish with death in an accident years ago. Above all else, he loved and supported his family; he always stood by them. He will be greatly missed. He is survived by his wife, Joanna; his children, Ruth Ann, Denise, Michael, Marie, and Kristen; 11 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; his brother, Geoffrey, and two nephews.
