Anthony P. Picard, Sr.

Anthony P. Picard, Sr. passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 4, 2012 at Montgomery Hospital in Norristown, PA. He was 91. Mr. Picard was a resident of King of Prussia, PA. He was a Tire Builder for the former B.F. Goodrich Tire Co. in Oaks, PA. Anthony was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Bridgeport, PA, where he was a member of the church Congrega and he was an annual feast worker. He was an avid bowler, card player and loved traveling. Mr. Picard was a WWII Army veteran, serving from 1945 to 1946.Born in Norristown, PA on July 12, 1920, he was a son of the late Salvatore and Caroline (Gianonni) Picardi. Surviving is his loving family including his wife of 69 years, Philomena C. (DeStefano) Picard, of Norristown, PA; two sons, Anthony P. Picard, Jr. and his wife, Elaine, of Conshohocken, PA and Gregory S. Picard and his wife, Marie, of Eagleville, PA; 3 grandchildren: Denise, Michael and Michele; a step-grandson, Bryan; 7 great-grandchildren: Gianna, Gina, Angela, Anthony, Brandon, Ryan and Tyler; 3 step-great grandchildren: Madison, Austin and Carson; two sisters, Santa Bono of Norristown, PA and Ada Phillips of Audubon, PA; and many nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by 3 brothers: Reds, Ralph and Alphonso; and 4 sisters, Anna Falcone, Palma Bambi, Mala Galanti and Katie Genuardi.Relatives and friends are invited to Anthony's Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 502 Ford St., Bridgeport, PA 19405 on Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at 10:30 AM. His viewing will be Wednesday morning from 8:30am to 10:20am, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. Interment will be in St. Augustine Cemetery, King of Prussia, PA.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Anthony's memory to Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 502 Ford St., Bridgeport, PA 19405.
