April Elaine Young took the hand of God into heaven on June 18, 2012. A memorial service will be held at Riverside Cemetery on Friday, June 22, 2012 at 12:30. She was welcomed in heaven by her mother and father, Joseph and Elaine (Bailey) Sesto as well as her son, Jeffery Scott Young. She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Kenneth E. Young. Through her life she remained best friends with her surviving sisters, Janice L (Sesto) Klein and husband George Klein of Port Charlotte, FL and Deborah (Sesto) Capinski and her husband Chris Capinski of Audubon, PA. Always in her heart was her surrogate son Larry Timko and his family. She is lovingly remembered as Memo by her nieces and nephews Chip Roberts and wife Joni, Kelly (Roberts) DiNenna and husband Pat, Mike Capinski and Katie Capinski and a great-niece Emily DiNenna. April was born on February 8, 1947. Throughout her life she was continuously involved in her community and had an unconditional love for her friends and family. She worked at several places throughout her life, making an impact on all of the people she met along the way. She worked at Bargain City, Norristown State Hospital, Devon Fabrics, the Salvation Army, Montgomery Hospice and Homecare as well as being a homemaker. She had a passion for the community of Norristown and became involved in politics to make a positive change in her area. She was elected to the Norristown Borough Council and was a comittee woman from 1992-1995. She was also a Democratic committee person and worked on several campaigns through the years. Her heart and compassion for people extended into her activities, where she poured her heart into serving and loving others. Her love for God was unfailing and extended that love into whatever she participated in. She was a Sunday School Superintendent at the Balligomingo Baptist Church, participated in “Toys for Tots” and food distribution with the Salvation Army, was the President of “West End Concerned Citizens” and a member of the Homemaker’s Association. Her life was a light in this world and she worked to spread that light throughout her community. She brightened the lives of her family and friends and was always ready to lend a helping hand. The impact she made on the lives around her and the lessons she taught about love and activism will always be close at hand and she will never be forgotten.
