Armand G. Barbone

Armand G. Barbone passed away peacefully on Friday, December 3, 2010 at his daughter's residence in King of Prussia PA, where he resided for the past 12 years. Armand resided most of his life in Bridgeport, PA. He was 94 years old. Armand was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Bridgeport and a member of the church's Holy Name Society, where he was their long time Marshall. He was also a member of LAM Valley Forge Lodge 1776 Sons of Italy, the Bridgeport-Upper Merion Lions Club, and the Triple 'S' Sportsman Club and VFW Post 840, both in Bridgeport. Mr. Barbone was a US Army Veteran of WW II, serving in the European theater of operations. Born in Bridgeport, PA on February 11, 1916, he was a son of the late Luigi and Pasqualina (Scandone) Barbone. He was the husband of the late Rose T. (Mazzeo) Barbone, who died in 2001. Surviving is his loving family including two daughters, Bernadette M. Wesler of King of Prussia, PA and Mary R. Sandt and her husband, Calvin of Cape Coral, Fl; a son, Louis A. Barbone and his wife, Angela of Ardsley, PA; eight grandchildren: James, Cathy, Trisha, Cynthia, Debbie, Elizabeth, Armand and Clare; twelve great-grandchildren; two sisters, Helen Rizzo of Jim Thorpe, PA and Sue Gaasche and her husband, Bill of Norristown, PA; four sisters-in-law: Catherine Capilato, Celeste Barbone, Marie Giovannini and Marlene Barbone; and many nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Albert, Alfred and Peter "Reds" Barbone. Relatives and friends are invited to Armand's Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 502 Ford St., Bridgeport, PA 19405 on Tuesday, December 7, 2010 at 10:00am. Interment will be in St. Augustine Cemetery, King of Prussia, PA. His viewings will be Monday evening from 6 to 8pm, also Tuesday morning from 8:30am to 9:20am, both at The Bacchi Funeral Home & Crematory, Ltd., 805 DeKalb St. (Route 202) Bridgeport, PA 19405.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Armand's name to Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at the above address.
