Arthur S. Kreeger, 89 passed away December 25, 2016. He was born in Philadelphia, PA in 1927 to the late Arthur S. Kreeger Jr. and Augusta S. (McKinney) Kreeger. Also preceded in death by his brother Edward T. Kreeger. Beloved husband for almost 59 years on January 25 to Beverly A. (Davis) Kreeger. Arthur enlisted in the US Army in July 1945 where he served at various posts in U.S., Trieste in Italy, until honorably discharged in 1949. After discharged, he had his own business installing carpets and flooring in the Philadelphia area. Arthur served in the PA Army National Guard for a combined of 21 years before retiring in 1986 as the First Sergeant of Headquarters Co., 1st Battalion, 111th Infantry Division, Norristown. He was promoted to Master Sergeant after discharge. When not serving his country Arthur was a founding member of Audubon Athletic Assn., started a youth summer basketball league, and coached little league baseball for over 10 seasons. After retirement he enjoyed watching and cheering for Philadelphia sports teams with his wife, even driving to Florida for spring training and spending time with grandchildren. Besides his wife, Arthur is survived by a daughter Barbara, wife of Lou Bleiler of Kutztown, Berks Co; son Stephen, husband of Elena Kreeger of Moscow, Russia; grandsons Brandon Bleiler of Brooksville, MS; Nicholas Bleiler of Allentown, Lehigh Co.; Gabriel Kreeger of Moscow and granddaughters Irina and Stephanie Kreeger; England and Riga, Lativa. Family and friends are invited to attend a viewing 10-11:00 am Friday, January 13, 2017 followed by a service at 11:00 am at Szpindor-Meyers Funeral Home, PC 101 N. Park Ave. Trooper, PA 19403. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Norristown, PA. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to any chapter of VFW, or American Heart Association.
