Arthur R. "Bob" Mills

Arthur R. “Bob” Mills, 89, formerly of Douglassville and King of Prussia passed away July 13, 2021 to be with the Lord and Joan, his beloved wife. He passed peacefully after a brief illness at Seasons Hospice in Phoenixville Hospital surrounded by family and listening to The Beatles. He was a graduating member of the Class of 1949 at Norristown High School. While employed at Manufacturers Insurance Company Bob met and married the love of his life, Joan, she passed away a few months before their 60th anniversary. He attended Penn State while raising his family and graduated in June 1968 with an Associate’s Degree in Business. Bob was the Data Processing Manager for Whitman Chocolates. He retired in April 1991. In the following years Bob and Joan traveled to Ireland, Hawaii, the Caribbean Islands, especially a few trips to Aruba as well as many cities in the United States. They lived in Camden, DE for a few years and would snowbird to Sun City Center, FL where they eventually settled. For a few years he and a few friends from DE enjoyed sailing their boat The Frolic on the Chesapeake Bay. As a radio control hobbyist he built and enjoyed running several cars, airplanes and boats throughout the years. Bob was a car enthusiast as well. He had also enjoyed wine making and building computers. His favorite author was James Patterson. His life was well lived. Bob was born in Norristown, PA to Lillian (MacMahon) and Arthur L. Mills, both deceased. His sister, Janice (Swan) also predeceased him. He is survived by his loving children: Robert A. (Janice Schrieffer) Mills Sr. of Lawrenceville, NJ, Michael (Janice Jones) Mills of Birdsboro, PA, Deborah Mills-Farrell of Phoenixville, PA, Denise (Mills) Landolf (Michael Landolf, Sr.) of Prospect Park, PA. His grandchildren: Adriane (Mills) Grossman, Anthony Landolf, Michael Landolf Jr., Amy L. Mills, Rob (Robert A.) Mills Jr., and Richard Farrell, many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and numerous friends. A graveside service will be held on Friday July 23, 2021 at 11:30 AM at Valley Forge Memorial Gardens, 352 South Gulph Rd., King of Prussia, PA 19406.
