BARBARA JEAN BYRNE passed away on June 12, 2021, at Presbyterian Hospital in Queens, New York. She was 68. Miss Byrne was born in Warminster, PA, and resided in Queens, NY. Barbara was the daughter of the late Marie Day Byrne and Patrick J. Byrne. She is survived by her sister Elaine, her brothers Patrick (Lisa) and Michael (Sandy), as well as by her beloved nieces, Meghan, Molly, and Bridget, and her nephew Ciaran. Barbara was a graduate of Melrose Academy, Franklin & Marshall College, and Boston University School of Law. Barbara spent the majority of her career as a very dedicated attorney for Legal Aid in Queens, where she was a much-valued supervisor, mentor, “work mother”, and friend, until her retirement in 2019. Barbara was a life-long animal lover; she had many pets of her own, and was always available to dog-sit for others. She enjoyed traveling throughout the USA and Europe. Barbara was a wonderful cook, and loved cooking for her friends and family. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral Mass at St. John Bosco Church, County Line Road, Hatboro, PA, on Friday, July 9th. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:30. Mass will begin at 10:30. There will be a remembrance luncheon afterwards. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) https://www.aspca.org/ways-to-give, or to a charity of your choice.
