Barbara A. (Sloane) Gilligan

Barbara A. (Sloane) Gilligan passed away peacefully on Friday, November 6, 2009 at her residence in Wayne, Pa. She was 83. Barbara was formally of King of Prussia, PA. She worked as a Secretary for the International Paper Company in New York City, NY. Barbara was a member of Mother of Divine Providence Church in King of Prussia, PA. Born on October 25, 1926 in Yonkers, NY, she was a daughter of the late John and Helen (Flynn) Sloane. Surviving are her loving family including her husband of 58 years, James J. Gilligan; four sons, James J. Jr. and his wife, Carol of Elverson, PA, Michael J. of Elverson, PA, David P. and his wife, Ann of Berwyn, PA and Patrick J. and his wife, Paula of King of Prussia, PA; two daughters, Mary E. Bradley and her husband, Jeff of Glenmore, PA and Catherine A. Gilligan of Wayne, PA; nine grandchildren: Eric, Kimberly, Carolyn, Jamie, Kiley, Abbey, Quinn, Concetta and Shane; a sister, Dolores Moriarty of Riverdale, NY; two nephews and two nieces. She was preceded in death by a sister, Geraldine Nalback. Relatives and friends are invited to her Funeral Mass at Mother of Divine Providence Church, 333 Allendale Rd., King of Prussia, PA 19406 on Wednesday, November 11, 2009 at 10:00am. The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday morning from 9 to 9:50am, at the church. Interment in Calvary Cemetery, Lower Merion Twp., PA.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Barbara's memory to Montgomery Home Care & Hospice, 25 E.
