Barbara C. Hedgecock

Barbara C. (Levings) Hedgecock passed away peacefully after a brief, courageous battle with pancreatic cancer on Monday, October 18, 2021, surrounded by her loving family at her home in Wayne, PA. She was 81. Mrs. Hedgecock was a co-owner of Valley Forge Flowers in Bridgeport, PA for many years. She was a member of St. Isaac Joques Church in Wayne, where she sang in the church’s choir. Barbara also sang with the choir at St. Katharine of Siena and the Philadelphia Archdiocesan Choir. She was a devoted supporter and board member of the Salesian Sisters of Don Bosco (formerly known as the Daughters of Mary, Help of Christians.) Born in Queens, NY on April 29, 1940, she was a daughter of the late Thomas J. and Kathleen (Sweeney) Levings. Surviving is her husband of 61 years, John E. “Jack” Hedgecock; two daughters, Barbara King (Joseph Paolino) and Briana Harris; five grandchildren: Kyle, John, Erin, Adlai and Jasper; four brothers: Brian, Rory, Howard & Eugene; three sisters: Helen, Beverly & Blanche; and many other loving family members. She was preceded in death by a son, John E. Hedgecock; a daughter, Sharyn Metzger; three brothers, Aloysius, Myles and Jackie; and a sister, Patsy. Relatives & friends are invited to Barbara’s viewing at St. Isaac Joques Church, 50 W. Walker Rd., Wayne, PA on Saturday, October 23, 2021 from 10 to 10:50 am; with her Funeral Mass starting at 11:00 am. Interment will be private. Memorial contributions may be made in Barbara’s memory to the Salesian Sisters of Don Bosco (formerly known as the Daughters of Mary, Help of Christians) at 655 Belmont Avenue, Haledon, NJ 07508-2397.
