Barbara M. (Welsh) Lonchar

Barbara Marie (Welsh) Lonchar passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 8, 2011 at Montgomery Hospital in Norristown, PA. She was 69. Mrs. Lonchar was a resident of Swedeland, PA and was a member of SS. Peter & Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church in Bridgeport, PA. She worked as an order selector for Fleming Foods. Barbara was a Republican Committee woman for over 20 years for Upper Merion Twp. and Montgomery County. She was an all around housewife who loved traveling, gardening and planting flowers. She enjoyed watching crime shows, especially NCIS.Born in Norristown, PA on November 2, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Barteau) Welsh. Surviving is her loving family including her husband of 50 years, Eugene N. "Gene" Lonchar; three daughters: Denise M. McCann and her husband, John of Swedesburg, PA, Renee L. Doganieri and her husband, Barry of Harleysville, PA and Kimberly Ann Lonchar of King of Prussia, PA; six grandchildren: Douglas, Stephine, Nicholas, Emily, Ashley and Christine; one great-granddaughter, Bryanna; a sister, Patricia Keyser of Orlando, FL; mother-in-law, Anna (Guman) Lonchar of Swedeland, PA; sister-in-law, Andrea Kunick of Swedeland, PA; and many nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by a son, Eugene Lonchar and a daughter, Debra Lonchar.Barbara‘s Divine Liturgy will be held at SS. Peter & Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church, 519 Union Ave., Bridgeport, PA 19405 on Tuesday, June 14, 2011 at 11:00am. Officiating will be Msgr. Dr. Ronald Popivchak, Pastor. The family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday morning from 9 to 10:50am, at the church. Interment will be private at the request of the family.
