Barbara Sylvester

Barbara “Barb” (Smith) Sylvester passed away peacefully on Monday, July 3, 2017, surrounded by her loving family at her residence in King of Prussia, PA. She was 67. Barb was an accountant for the John Middleton Co. in King of Prussia, PA and was a former Chemical Engineer for Lanza Pharmacutical Company. She enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, Stephen King books, watching the Indianpolis 500, shopping at Dutch country, and she volunteered at the rummage sale at Trinity Gulph Mills Church. Born in Wayne, PA on January 7, 1950, she was a daughter of Sara (Scott) Smith and the late Ronald Smith. Surviving is her loving family including her mother, her husband of 32 years, John Sylvester, Jr.; two sons, Charles Sylvester of Bristol, PA and John Sylvester, III of Scranton, PA; a daughter, Chana Sylvester of Skippack, PA; six grandchildren: Kevin, Matthew, Renee, Ryleigh, Scarlett and Charles Jr.; two great-grandchildren, Kaylee and Liam; two brothers, Scott Smith of Indianpolis, IN and Ron Smith of West Chester, PA; two sisters, Shirley Smith of Norristown, PA and Linda Looft and her husband, Pete, of Wayne, PA; her mother-in-law, Elizabeth (Rhoads) Sylvester of King of Prussia, PA; sister-in-law, Elizabeth A. Schrack of Pottstown, PA; brother-in-law, James P. Sylvester of Spring City, PA; and many other loving family members. Barb’s viewing will be held at The Bacchi Funeral Home & Crematory, Ltd., 805 DeKalb St. (Rt. 202), Bridgeport, PA 19405 on Saturday, July 8, 2017 at 3:00pm, followed by her Funeral Service at 4:00pm. Burial will be private at the request of her family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Barb’s memory to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 22478, Oklahoma City, OK 73123.
