Barrett "Barry" Silver

Barrett “Barry” Silver passed away on Thursday, December 5, 2024 at Celebration Hospital in Celebration, FL at the age of 66. Barry was a resident of Tarpon Springs, FL. He was a proud citizen of the Haliwa-Saponi Tribe based in Hollister, North Carolina.

Born in Philadelphia, PA on January 15, 1958, he was a son of the late Woodrow “Woody” Silver and Leslie Mae (Green) Bower. Barry was the beloved husband of Teresa (Slodysko) Silver for 38 years. Barry had a lifelong passion for music, playing the French horn and trumpet from childhood through high school, and the bass guitar in a top 40 band in his youth. Barry was an avid Eagles and Phillies fan and enjoyed attending all types of outdoor music concerts.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son Michael and daughter-in-law Nora; three brothers, Anthony (Alicia), Gordon (Sue), and Chris (Lee); his sister, Norma Silver (Robert); step-father, Kenneth Bower; step-brother, Shawn P. O’Brien; step-sister, Erin Gear (Kevin); as well as many other extended family members and friends. His first grandson is due to arrive next May.

Barry is preceded in death by his father Woodrow as well as his step - mother Sandra (Bacchi) Silver.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Barry’s viewing at The Bacchi Funeral Home & Crematory, 805 DeKalb St. Bridgeport, PA 19405 on Saturday, December 14, 2024 from 10am to 12pm, followed by his funeral service at 12pm. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Barry’s name to BreakthroughT1D.org (type 1 diabetes charity).
