Barry Anderson

November 28, 1938 — September 9, 2022

Barry Anderson passed away on Friday, September 9,2022 in his home surrounded by family. Born on November 28,1938 in Mapleton Depot, Pa, he was the only child of LaVern and Larie Anderson. Barry was the loving husband of Jean Armstrong Anderson sharing 61 years of marriage.  He is also survived by his son, Jeffrey of Florida and Marla Kline (Michael) of Collegeville Pa. He was the loving “Pappy” to his four grandsons, Michael, Matthew (Katie), Christopher and David and two great grandsons Noah and Knox.  He will be remembered by his grandsons as always attending every sports event they participated in, including many practices and the lesson of always greeting someone with a firm handshake while looking them in the eyes.

Barry was an avid hunter and fisherman never missing deer season from the age of 12. He was an excellent athlete playing both baseball and football, winning several awards including Huntingdon County Baseball Batting Champion his junior year of high school.  Barry was a big Penn State fan attending as many football games as he could. He was very patriotic and enlisted in the Army in 1957 and served in Korea.  Barry will be remembered as a patient, gentle and loving family man who enjoyed spending time with his family, friends, his beloved granddog Bella and vacationing at the Jersey shore with his family.

A special thanks to Katie Anderson and Kylie Tripp who helped care for him and make him comfortable during his final days.
