Ben (Mauffie) Crawford, age 75, passed away peacefully on December 2, 2017 at The Christiana Hospital, Newark surrounded by those he loved most in life – his wife, children and grandsons. Ben was born in Collingdale, Pennsylvania on August 12,1942. He was the only child of Benjamin & Lillian Crawford. He graduated from Collingdale High School in 1960. Ben graduated from Drexel University with a degree in accounting in 1965. He then enlisted in the Army and served for 3 years in Japan. When his enlistment was completed, he went on to have a career in the child care industry. He and his wife Judy have operated Foulk Pre-School for 41 years. Ben married the love of his life and best friend Judy in 1964. Fifty three years of marriage gave them Ben’s greatest joy and truest legacy, his four children, Robbie, Keith, Corinne and Shane, and his two grandsons Luke and Seth. He was a soccer coach for Shane and grandchildren Luke and Seth. When raising his sons, he was a Scoutmaster and treasurer for Troop 522. He was a Philadelphia Flyers fan, but his true passion was attending Philadelphia Eagles games with his boys. Ben will be missed for his weird jokes and funny stories. A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday December 9th at Foulk Pre-School, 2 Tenby Drive. Friends may call from 1PM – 4PM. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made in his name to The American Heart Association.
