On Friday, August 28, 2026, God in His infinite wisdom called Bobbie Rawls from labor to rest. Passing peacefully at Abington Jefferson Hospital at the age of 93, Bobbie leaves behind a legacy of love, service, and devotion.
Born in Culpeper, Virginia, on April 18, 1933, Bobbie was the cherished son of the late Elwood Rawls and Ruth Apperson Rawls. He joins in eternal rest his beloved wife, Jeannette Rawls, and his siblings, Samuel Rawls, Earl Rawls, and Bernice Rawls Henderson.
A proud graduate of George Washington Carver Regional High School, Bobbie went on to earn his degree from Virginia State College. It was during his college years that he became a dedicated member of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity. After completing his education, he honorably served his country in the U.S. Army at Fort Benning, Georgia, and later spent many dedicated years with the United States Postal Service until his early retirement.
A devoted family man, Bobbie centered his life on nurturing and guiding his four children. He stood as a constant example of what it means to be an exemplary citizen, mentor, husband, and father.
He is survived by his loving children: Jeffery Pierce, Gregory Pierce, Steven Rawls, and Lori Parker.
Bobbie was reunited in eternal rest with his beloved wife, Jeannette Rawls; his brothers, Samuel and Earl; his sister, Bernice; and his dear niece, Carolyn Cooper.
His legacy of love and guidance lives on through his children: Jeffery Pierce, Gregory Pierce, Steven Rawls, and Lori Parker. His memory will also be forever cherished by his daughters-in-law, Adrienne Bowman Rawls and Susan Pierce; his son-in-law, David Parker; his three grandchildren, Danielle Pierce, Bailey Parker, and Ethan Rawls; and his three great-grandchildren, Noah Cambridge, Carter Cambridge, and Parker Yoder. He is further survived by a host of nieces, nephews, and friends whose lives he deeply touched.
The family wishes to express a special token of appreciation to his great niece, Christina Cooper. Her selfless journey from Georgia to help Lori provide around-the-clock comfort and care during his final days will always be remembered.
