Bonnie (Huffman) Ziegler passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 12, 2026 at the Meadows at Shannondell in Audubon, PA. She was 96 years old.
Born in Dryfork, WV on August 1, 1929, she was one of ten children to Gordon and Calcie (Harman) Huffman. Bonnie’s family relocated to Hershey, PA and she graduated from Hershey High School. During her time living in Hershey, she also worked at the Hershey Chocolate Factory.
At 20 years old, during a trip down the shore to Wildwood Beach in July, Bonnie met her beloved husband, Robert “Zig” J. Ziegler. Bonnie being from Hershey and Bob being from West Philadelphia, they would take turns traveling back and forth on the weekends to visit each other. After just three short months, Bob and Bonnie were engaged and married by June 1951. They lived initially in W. Phila., but then moved their lives to King of Prussia after just a couple of years, which is where they built their life with their children. Bonnie was an active member of St. Matthew’s United Methodist Church in Wayne for many years. At age 33, she started working for National Liberty Life Insurance Co. and continued to work there as the building receptionist until age 65. Shortly after the passing of Bonnie’s dear husband in 2004, she decided to move to Shannondell in Audubon, where she joined many clubs, activities, and was really able to have a sense of community.
Bonnie is survived by her loving family including her son, Steven J. Ziegler (Michelle); her daughter, Lori A. Sobocinski (Jon); three grandchildren, Grant Sobocinski (Priscilla), Leah Marchesani (Dan), and Bobby McNichols; four great grandchildren, Ada and Eve Sobocinski, and Molly and Jack Marchesani; as well as many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, Robert J. Ziegler, she is preceded in death by her 9 siblings.
