Brian Timothy Donohue

July 17, 1962 — March 12, 2022

Brian Timothy Donohue of Abington, PA passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 12, 2022 while surrounded by loved ones at University of Pennsylvania Hospital, Philadelphia after a hard-fought battle with MDS (Myelodysplastic Syndrome). Brian was born in Huntingdon Valley, PA on July 17, 1962. Son of the late Marion (nee Brannigan) and Peter James Donohue, Brian was a graduate of Abington High School Class of 1980. He received an Associate’s Degree from Spring Garden College. Brian was an industrious, independent general contractor with a big heart, a bright smile and a kind word for everyone he met. Brian was a diehard Eagles fan and a loyal friend who never missed an opportunity to have breakfast out with his family. Brian enjoyed volleyball, skiing, long drives, ice cream, vacationing in Ocean City, and above all, spending time with his family. Brian was a joyful man, although he did not need much to make him happy. Our favorite times with Brian were long hours spent around the dinner table laughing together until we cried. Brian always said our family was “rich in love”. Brian fought so hard to continue living his beautiful life and so, in his honor, we ask that you live like Brian. Live a beautiful life. Brian is survived by his best friend and wife of 31 years Jane (nee Desch); his children Catherine, Sarah and Sean; his siblings Eileen Richards (Hugh), Martha, Betty Mulcahy (Joe), and Jerry (Meg); and many loving nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and Brother William. Services and interment will be private. Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life for Brian at Knights of Columbus in Glenside, PA on Friday, March 18, 2022 from 2:30-5 PM. Please RSVP for the celebration by texting or calling (207) 653-8485. Please feel free to wear green or something bright.
