Carmella (Tarantino) Melle

Carmella "Millie" (Tarantino) Melle passed away peacefully on Monday, April 20, 2015 at Crest Haven Nursing Home in Cape May Court House, NJ. She was 95. Mrs. Melle was a resident of the Villas, NJ and was previously of Bridgeport, PA. She worked as a utility girl on an assembly line at Philco Ford in Lansdale, PA, for 30 years. Millie was a member of the former Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Bridgeport. She enjoyed dancing, crocheting and Italian cooking. Her signature dish was her homemade apple pie. Millie liked spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved her summer home which was always open to family and friends.Born in Norristown, PA on April 1, 1920, she was a daughter of the late Guiseppe and Dorothy (Dellangelo) Tarantino. She was the wife of the late John Joseph Melle, Sr., who died in 1977. Surviving is her loving family including a son, David R. Melle and his wife, Gerry, of Bridgeport, PA; a daughter, Donna M. Melle-McFeeters and her husband, Francis, of Egg Harbor Twp., NJ; five grandchildren: Anthony and his wife, Bernadette, Roseann, David, John and Ricky; two great-granddaughters, Kierra and Toni; two brothers, Anthony Tarantino and his wife, Phyllis, of Bridgeport, PA and Joseph Tarantino and his wife, Nancy, of Valley Forge, PA; a sister, Ann Carron of Bridgeport, PA; and many other loving family members. She was preceded in death by a son, John J. Melle, Jr.; daughter-in-law, Roseann; and two sisters, Florence Gadzicki and Ida Hamel. Relatives and friends are invited to Millie's Funeral Mass at the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Worship Site, 502 Ford St., Bridgeport, PA on Saturday, April 25, 2015 at 11:00 am. Her viewing will be Saturday from 9 to 10:50 am, at the worship site. Interment will be in St. Patrick Cemetery Mausoleum, E.
