Carole N Himes

Carole N. (Bailey) Himes, 75, devoted wife of the late Robert E. Himes, passed away at home on Sunday, September 10, 2017. She had resided in Panama City, FL for the last 29 years, previously residing in Audubon, PA. Born on September 12, 1941 in Norristown, PA, she was the daughter of the late Philip and Elsie Mae (Miles) Bailey. One of eight children, she was predeceased by her seven brothers and sisters. Carole and her husband, Bob shared 56 wonderful years of marriage. She is survived by their two sons: Robert E. Himes II and his wife, Lisa of Spring City, PA; Philip D. Himes and his wife, Summer of Panama City Beach, FL and son-in-law, Carlo Graffeo of Eagleville, PA. She is predeceased by their daughter, Michele Graffeo. She also left behind six grandchildren: Stephen Furman and fiancé Jen Falbo of Abington, PA; Daniel Furman and his wife, Sara of Trappe, PA; Sarah Himes and Robert E. Himes III of Spring City, PA; Philip D. Himes II and Daniel Himes of Panama City Beach, FL and one great grandchild, Daniel Furman Jr. of Trappe, PA. Family was the light of Carole’s life. Her most treasured times were those when she was gathered with family at holidays, graduations, birthdays and simple backyard cook outs. She enjoyed cooking, baking, playing games and sharing stories of her interesting life as an Air Force wife and mother. Carole enjoyed her many travels and adventures during her husband’s 23 years in the Air Force. They experienced various assignments, living in such places as Bermuda, Florida, Michigan, The Philippines and Virginia. The military was always near and dear to her heart. She also enjoyed her local involvement in TOPS as a treasurer, Bunko Club and Retired Air Force Wives’ Mahjong Club. In her free time, she loved working in her garden, reading, playing Bingo, going to the casinos and dining with many dear friends. Her funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 21, 2017 at Szpindor-Meyers Funeral Home, 101 North Park Avenue, Trooper, PA 19403. The viewing will be held from 10am – 11am and the service at 11am. Burial will follow immediately after the service at Valley Forge Memorial Gardens, King of Prussia, PA.
