Caroline Harriss

Caroline "Cathy" Harriss, formerly of Fairfield, Ohio, died on Tuesday, September 29, 2009, with her family by her side in Newport News, VA. She was 65. Mrs. Harriss graduated high school in Old Lyme, Conn and embarked as a career Navy wife, marrying then LCDR David Jackson Harriss. Their joint dedication and sacrifice contributed to the collective strengths of family and nation over a quarter century. A loving mom, devoted Navy wife and friend, Mrs. Harriss cherished life and nature's beauty. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.Born in Philadelphia, PA on August 5, 1944, she was the daughter of Frederick and Caroline (Corson) Dixon. Cathy is survived by her sons, Christopher and David Harriss; daughters-in-law, Karin and Kim Harriss; grandchildren, Camden and Christopher; brother, Rick Francis; sister, Julia Francis; and her many friends in the Cincinnati area.Relatives and friends are invited to her Funeral Service at The Bacchi-Courtney Funeral Home & Crematory, Ltd., 805 DeKalb St. (Rt. 202), Bridgeport, PA 19405 on Saturday, October 3, 2009 at 12noon. Her viewing will be Saturday morning from 11 to 11:50am, at the funeral home. Interment will be in Washington Memorial Chapel Cemetery in Valley Forge National Park, Rt. 23, Valley Forge, PA.
