Carolyn Mathisen

Carolyn (Mirales) Mathisen passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 16, 2009 at Paoli Hospital Paoli in Paoli, PA. She was 81. Mrs. Mathisen was a resident of Hershey Mills, PA. She earned an economics degree from Brooklyn College. Carolyn bravely battled rheumatoid arthritis for the past 25 years. She was a warm, loving person and will be sorely missed by all who knew her. Born in Brooklyn, NY on February 14, 1928, she was a daughter of the late James and Marietta (Halikis) Mirales. Surviving are her loving family including her husband of 60 years, Edward M. Mathisen; two sons, Michael E. Mathisen and his wife, Margaret of Phoenixville, PA and Richard J. Mathisen of Wayne, PA; a daughter, Jane M. Mathisen and her husband, Robert Aronowitz of Merion Station, PA; seven grandchildren: Ted, Jim, Katie and Ian Mathisen, Sara and Daniel Aronowitz and Ellen Beiwald; one great-grandson, Benjamin M. Mathisen; a brother, Nicholas Mirales and his wife, Elizabeth of Newtown, PA; and many nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by a brother, Steven Mirales. Relatives and friends are invited to her Funeral Service on Saturday, April 18, 2009 at 1:00pm at St. Peter's Church in the Great Valley, 2475 St. Peter's Road, Malvern, PA 19355. 610-644-2261 www.stpetersgv.org Officiating will be the Rev.
