Carrol Armand Pete' Peterson

Carrol Armand "Pete" Peterson passed away peacefully on Friday, October 15, 2010, surrounded by his loving family at Bryn Mawr Hospital in Bryn Mawr, PA. Born in Bradford, PA on October 7, 1925, he was a son of the late Otto and Christine Peterson. He spent his early years in Mt. Jewett, Marion Center, Punxsutawney, and Brockway, all in PA. Pete graduated from Brockway High School in 1942, spent 2 years at Penn State, then entered the US Navy's V-12 Program which assigned him to Yale University in New Haven, CT. He graduated from Yale in 1945 with a degree in Chemical Engineering, then received a Naval Officer's commission from the USNR Midshipmen's School at Columbia University in NYC. Pete then served as Executive Officer aboard USS PC-581. He was employed in Palmerton, PA and Guilford, CT before joining General Electric Company in 1956. He spent 35 years with GE and retired in 1991 from the Space Division in King of Prussia. Following retirement, Pete was employed as a Tipstaff for the Montgomery County Courts, was active in various civic and church related organizations and was a member of Trinity Church Gulph Mills since 1962. He served the parish as vestryman and choir member. Pete sang with the Montgomery Co. Senior Concert Choir and the S & C Chorus and volunteered at the visitor's desk at Valley Forge National Historical Park. Surviving is his wife, Martha; daughters, Sara and Martha; sons, Robert, Donald, and Stephen; their spouses: Ron, Sara, Pat, Joan, and Denise; 10 grandchildren: Ronald, Katie, Matthew, Lindsey, Robert, Stephanie, Abigail, Kimberly, Hayley, and Stevie; and 4 great-grandchildren; a brother, Noel and his wife, Jean; one niece and two nephews.Relatives and friends are invited to his Memorial Service at the Trinity Church Gulph Mills, 966 Trinity Lane, King of Prussia, PA 19406 on Saturday, October 23, 2010 at 11:00am. Interment in Trinity Church Gulph Mills Memorial Garden.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Pete's memory to the Trinity Church Gulph Mills at the above address.Arrangements are by The Bacchi Funeral Home & Crematory, Ltd., Bridgeport, PAwww.bacchifuneralhome.com
