Loving wife, mother and grandmother, Catherine (Kufrovich) King, 85 of Audubon, wife of the late Gerald King died Monday, March 13, 2017. Born in Mahanoy City, PA,Catherine was the youngest of 12 children to the late Paul and Mary Kufrovich. Catherine was a nun with the immaculate Heart Order and taught elementary school in the north east area of PA in the coal mining region. After leaving the order she meet and married Jerry King in 1961. Catherine was a long time member of St Teresa of Avila in Trooper. She spent many years volunteering at the church. She was involved with the church bazaar, Eucharistic Minister, alter boys, teaching gym and many other activities. Catherine always put her family first and was always willing to help any family in need. She enjoyed spending time with her family, attending her grandchildren's activities and cooking large family meals. Catherine enjoyed watching Notre Dame football, polkas, collecting Santa Clause figurines and making pierogies. She had a contagious laugh and could brighten anyone's day. Catherine is survived by her children Chris (Barb) Tim (Debbie), Terry, MaryAlice Cooper (Mark), Greg (Kathy) and Beth (Ken); 12 grandchildren Michael, Alex, Lauren, Jonathan, Sarah, Jake, Jeremy, Noelle, Sara, Max, Bryan, and Leah. Catherine was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years Gerald, her parents Paul and Mary Kufrovich, her six brothers and 5 sisters. Family and friends are invited to attend her funeral mass at St Teresa of Avila Church, 1260 S Trooper Road, Norristown, PA 19403 on Friday, March 17. Visitation will be at the church from 8 - 9:45 with a mass of Christian burial at 10. Interment will be at St Patrick's cemetery in Norristown.
