Charles 'Chalie' Frederick Saunders

Charles F. (Chalie) Saunders, 70, of Philadelphia, PA, passed away on Monday, August 20th, 2018, at home, in the company of family. Chalie was born in Philadelphia, PA on February 6, 1948, the son of the late Margaret (McDevitt) and the late Peter Joseph Saunders. He attended St. Timothy parochial School and graduated Father Judge High School in 1966. He and Terry were married September 11th, 1976. Chalie was an Air Force Vietnam veteran and a 43 year member of William D. Oxley American Legion Post 133. He is survived by his loving wife Terry (nee Winters), dear brother of Patricia Murray, (the late Vincent), Peter (Pat), John (Betty), Kathleen Sheehan, the late Hugh (survived by Linda), and the late Peggy Iavecchia (survived by Albert). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call on Tuesday from 6-8 PM at the Hollen Funeral Home 3160 Grant Ave. Philadelphia, PA 19114, and Wednesday from 10:30 – 11:45 AM at St. Timothy Church, 3001 Levick St., Philadelphia, PA, 19149 with a Funeral mass at 12 noon. Interment will be in Washington Crossing National Cemetery in Newtown, PA. Donations may be made to PAWS Adoption Center, 1810 Grant Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19115. Services entrusted to Walter J.
