Charles L. Ritrovato passed away suddenly on Monday, November 29, 2010 at Montgomery Hospital in Norristown, PA. He was 90. Mr. Ritrovato was a resident of Bridgeport, PA. He worked as a shipper for the former Taylor Fiber Co. in Betzwood, PA. Charles was a graduate of the former Bridgeport High School, Class of 1940, where he played football under Coach Joe Daher. He was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Bridgeport, PA. He was also a member of the Triple ‘S' Club, where he played baseball and softball. Charles was an avid Notre Dame Fan. Mr. Ritrovato was a US Army veteran of WWII, serving in Germany.Born in Bridgeport, PA on June 8, 1920, he was a son of the late Vincenzo and Theresa (DeStefano) Ritrovato. Surviving is his loving family including two sisters, Antoinette Ritrovato of Bridgeport, PA and Della Woyden of King of Prussia, PA; two brothers, Salvatore Ritrovato of Norristown, PA and Louis Ritrovato and his wife, Emilie of Hummelstown, PA; two sisters-in-law, Maxine (Wittlock) Ritrovato and Pearl (Gambone) Ritrovato; and many nephews, nieces, great-nephews and nieces and great-great-nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard E. and Nicholas; and a sister-in-law, Kathleen (McMonagle) Ritrovato.Relatives & friends are invited to his Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 502 Ford St., Bridgeport, PA 19405 on Friday, December 3, 2010 at 10:00am. His viewings are Thursday evening from 6 to 8pm, and Friday morning from 8:30 to 9:20am, both at The Bacchi Funeral Home & Crematory, Ltd., 805 DeKalb St. (Rt. 202), Bridgeport, PA 19405. Interment in St. Augustine Cemetery, King of Prussia, PA.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Charles' memory to Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 502 Ford St., Bridgeport, PA 19405.
