Charlotte A. Bontempo

Charlotte A. (Estock) Bontempo passed away peacefully on Friday, August 30, 2019 at ManorCare Health Services in King of Prussia, PA. She was 82. Mrs. Bontempo was a resident of Bridgeport, PA. She was a graduate of St. Matthew Catholic High School, Class of 1955. Charlotte worked as a seamstress for Bontempo & Sons in King Manor, PA, which later became Central Cleaners. Charlotte was a member of Sacred Heart Church in Bridgeport. She was also a member of the former Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Bridgeport, where she was a president of the PTA and volunteered at the school library. Charlotte was also a den mother for her son’s Boy Scout Troop. Born in Norristown, PA on March 21, 1937, she was a daughter of the late George F. Estock, Jr. and Theresa (Godri) Estock. She was the wife of the late John A. Bontempo, who died in 1988. Surviving is her loving family including 2 daughters, Charlene A. (Michael) Gledhill and Georgia (Frank) Miller, both of Bridgeport, PA; 2 sons, John A. (Robert) Bontempo, Jr. of Tucson, AZ and Andrew J. Bontempo of Bridgeport, PA; 3 grandchildren: Melissa (Jas) Guziewicz, Matthew Gledhill and Ashley Miller; 2 great-grandchildren; Jay and Gabby Guziewicz; and a brother, George Estock of King Manor, PA. Relatives & friends are invited to Charlotte’s viewing at Sacred Heart Church, 120 Jefferson St., Bridgeport, PA on Wednesday, September 4, 2019 from 9:30 to 10:15 am; with her Funeral Mass starting at 10:30 am. Interment will be in St. Augustine Cemetery, King of Prussia, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Charlotte’s memory to the American Heart Association, 1617 John F Kennedy Blvd., Suite 700, Philadelphia, PA 19103.
