Christian Wisner Kersten

Christian “Chris” Gerardus Maria Wisner Kersten passed away suddenly on Wednesday, May 18, 2016, at his residence in King of Prussia, PA. He was 30 years old. Chris was an English as a second language teacher and he also worked as a painting instructor. He was a brilliant man, earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Japanese Language and Culture Studies, and a Master’s Degree in International Relations. He was fluent in Dutch, English, French, German and Japanese. Chris enjoyed spending his free time on the traditional craft of Orthodox icon painting, studying history and folklore, and reading classical texts of Indian philosophy. He was a fitness enthusiast and vegetarian who loved boxing, firestaff, running, painting, cooking, baking, reading, traveling and animals. Chris was the embodiment of a true Renaissance Man. Not only beautiful and talented, he was a true gentleman with an exceptionally kind and tender heart who loved with a fierce passion. Born in Sittard, the Netherlands on December 8, 1985, he was the son of Mathias and Antoinette Kersten, who currently live in Susteren, the Netherlands. Also surviving is his husband, Justin C. Wisner of King of Prussia; sister, Eveline Josephine Kersten of Utrecht, the Netherlands; mother-in-law, Lydia Wisner of King of Prussia, PA; and his father-in-law, Peter E. Wisner of Ellicott City, MD. Relatives and friends are invited to Christian’s Funeral Service at the Central Baptist Church, 106 W. Lancaster Ave., Wayne, PA 19087 on Thursday, May 26, 2016 at 4:00 pm. Interment will be private. Arrangements are by The Bacchi Funeral Home & Crematory, Ltd. Condolences at www.bacchifh.com
