Christine (Messantonio) Chendorain passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 24, 2013. She was 92. Mrs. Chendorain was a resident of Bridgeport, PA. She worked as a spinner for the former Hosies Knitting Mill in Bridgeport and worked part-time for Burger King in King of Prussia. Christine was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Bridgeport, PA, where she was an annual feast worker and a member of the church's Congrega and BVM Sodality. She was also a member of the Norristown Senior Center. Christine loved bingo and going to the casinos. Born in Bridgeport, PA, on October 8, 1920, she was a daughter of the late Caesar and Maria (Mazzarella) Messantonio. She was the wife of the late Michael J. Chendorain, who died in 1989. Surviving is her loving family including a sister, Theresa Judge of Parksley, VA; and many nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by 6 brothers: Peter, Augustus, Carmen, William, Charles and Salvatore; and 3 sisters, Mildred Bolognese, Philomena Deegan and Enis Praskay.Relatives & friends are invited to Christine's Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 502 Ford St. Bridgeport, PA on Monday, April 29, 2013 at 10:00am. Her viewing will be Monday morning from 9 to 9:50am, at the church.
