Cirilo V Casals

Cirilo Villamor Casals, 87, of East Norriton, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on April 19, 2021, surrounded by his family. Born in The Philippines’ Cebu province in 1934, Cirilo was the youngest of eight children of the late Alberto and Eusebia Casals. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering at LaSalle University in Manila in 1955 and his MBA at the University of Philippines in 1965. He continued there as a professor at the graduate school before moving to the United States in 1967, to pursue a doctorate degree at New York University. Cirilo’s wife and two youngest daughters immigrated to the U.S. in 1968. He worked hard to earn U.S. citizenship for his whole family, reuniting with his two eldest daughters in 1973. That same year, he and his wife welcomed the birth of his only U.S.-born daughter. Cirilo supported his family as a Systems Analyst for Sperry Rand - Univac, now known as Unisys, for 24 years before retiring. After his retirement, Cirilo went on to build a tax preparation practice, which he used to serve his community and church, and to volunteer helping homeless individuals. In 2002, he survived a major car accident against all odds. He worked tirelessly to recover from the accident and blessed his family with 19 more years. Cirilo was a devout Catholic. He enjoyed bowling and loved spending time with his family. He was a devoted husband and a loving father and grandfather. His greatest accomplishment and joy was his family. One of his favorite sayings was, “Charlie had only three angels, but I have five: Cirilo’s Angels.” He is lovingly remembered by his wife of 63 years, Rosalinda; his five daughters, Eva (Roy), Diana (Bill), Marvie, Tess and Liz (Sam); and his eight grandchildren, Krista, Ryan (Linda), Alexa, Justin, Shane, Preston, Max and Violet. He is predeceased by his seven siblings, grandson Jason and granddaughter Kyla. Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation from 9:20 to 10:20 am Thursday, May 13, 2021 at Visitation BVM Upper Church, 196 N Trooper Rd., Eagleville, Pa 19403 followed by a mass at 10:30 am. Entombment will be in St. Patrick Cemetery, Norristown.
