Clara C. (Digenova) Almeida

Clara C. (DiGenova) Almeida passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 29, 2011 at Montgomery Hospital in Norristown, PA. She was 74. Mrs. Almeida was a resident of Bridgeport, PA. She worked 25 years as a podiatrist assistant for Dr. Pronchick in King of Prussia, PA. Clara was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Bridgeport, PA, where she was an annual feast worker. Born in Atlantic City, NJ on October 7, 1936, she was a daughter of the late Salvatore and Carolina (DeSimone) DiGenova. Surviving is her loving family including her husband of 54 years, Anthony J. Almeida; a son, Joseph A. Almeida and his wife, Tracy of Steubenville, OH; two daughters, Lisa Wallace and her husband, Paul of Hockessin, DE and Carol Schutz and her husband, Michael of Malvern, PA; ten grandchildren: John, Ben, Sam, David, Johanna, Suzanna & Elizabeth Almeida, Ben & Elyssa Wallace and Sammy Schutz; five great-grandchildren: Anastasia, Rose, Robert & Thomas Almeida and Sammy Almeida; a brother, Claude DiGenova of Atco, NJ; two sisters, Margaret Cimino of New York and Filomena Plesha and her husband, Vincent of Margate, NJ; and many nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by a sister, Lucy Fasola. Relatives & friends are invited to her Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 502 Ford St. Bridgeport, PA 19405 on Monday, October 3, 2011 at 10:00am. Clara's viewings will be Sunday evening from 6 to 8pm, at The Bacchi Funeral Home and Crematory, Ltd., 805 DeKalb St., (Rt. 202), Bridgeport, PA 19405 and Monday morning from 9 to 9:50am, at the church.
