Clarence "Larry" Flinn

Clarence S. “Larry” Flinn passed away peacefully on Monday, October 24, 2016, at the Masonic Village @ Whitemarsh in Lafayette Hill, PA. He was 92. Mr. Flinn was one of the first residents of King of Prussia, PA. He worked as an interior decorator for George B. Lampus Co. Larry was a Mason 32nd Degree, a lifetime member and past president of AMBUCS, a past president of the Lafayette Ambulance Corps, and he served as a president of the AARP in King of Prussia. He was a founding member and director of the King of Prussia Players and in the early 1950’s was a director and actor of the Old Academy Players. He also enjoyed golf, baseball, bowling and coin collecting. Larry was very personable and was well liked and loved by everyone who knew him. Mr. Flinn was a WW II veteran, serving as a submariner in the US Navy. “Whom virtue unites, death will not separate.” Born in Parkersburg, WV on December 11, 1923, he was a son of the late Carl and Emily (Small) Flinn. Surviving is his loving family including his wife of 68 years, Ethel (Taylor) Flinn; a son, Bruce (Sharon) Flinn of Pocono Summit, PA; two daughters, Rhonda Flinn Thomas of King of Prussia, PA and Denise (Barry) Fromberg of Plano, TX; six grandchildren: Ashley W. Thomas, Kimberly B. (John) Bragg, Alona (Jason) Finch, Jessica (Ian) Simpkinson, Dr. Caitlin (Brent) Bennyhoff and Shaun Flinn; four great-grandchildren: Emerson L. & Carson L. Finch, John Braxton Bragg, Jr. and Kieran R. Bennyhoff. He was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, George C. Taylor. Larry’s Memorial Service will be held at The Bacchi Funeral Home & Crematory, Ltd., 805 DeKalb St., Bridgeport, PA on Saturday, November 12, 2016 at 11:00 am. The family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday morning from 10 to 10:50am, at the funeral home. Interment will be private.
