Clifford R. Ivey passed away peacefully on Monday, March 30, 2009 at The Hospice Center in Charleston, South Carolina. He was 85. Mr. Ivey resided in Charleston, SC and was formerly of King of Prussia, PA. He worked as a district manager for the former Bell Telephone Company in Philadelphia, PA. Clifford was a former member of St. Matthew's United Methodist Church of Valley Forge in Wayne, PA. He was very active with the Upper Merion School Board and the Montgomery County Intermediate Unit, serving as president on both boards. After retirement, Clifford served for eight years as a volunteer EMT with the Lafayette Ambulance Squad in King of Prussia, PA. Mr. Ivey was a US Navy veteran of WW II, serving from March 2, 1943 to April 2, 1946.Born in Robeson County, NC on September 1, 1923, he was a son of the late Lonnie J. and Frances H. (Britt) Ivey. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy W.(Schoonover) Ivey, who died in 2000. Surviving are loving family including his wife, Nancy Ann (Black) Ivey; two sons, Steven R. Ivey and his companion, Bonnie Jensen of King of Prussia, PA and Brian B. Ivey and his wife, Phyllis of Devon, PA; two grandchildren, Jessica and Jason Ivey; a brother, Jay Ivey and his wife, Kitty. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia L. Ivey, who died in 2000.Relatives and friends are invited to his Funeral Service at The Bacchi-Courtney Funeral Home & Crematory, Ltd., 805 DeKalb St. (Rt. 202) Bridgeport, PA 19405 on Saturday, April 4, 2009 at 11:00am. His viewings are Friday evening from 7 to 8:30pm and Saturday morning from 10 to 10:50am, both at the funeral home. Interment in Glenwood Memorial Gardens, Broomall, PA.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Clifford's memory to the Lafayette Ambulance Squad, 180 N.
